After years of fighting DECC to stop this ridiculous initiative, it has finally been axed.
Amber Rudd announced this on thursday 23rd July - Pete was part of the IHBC consultations group that advised DECC over a year ago that External, Internal and Cavity Wall insulation were likely to become a massive liability to the Government. After another recent consultation, Rudd and DECC have finally come to their senses and canned this ridiculous affair.
Unfortunately it is too late for the hundreds of thousands of people who have had cavity wall insulation at taxpayers expense, only to find their houses became sopping wet and freezing cold. An enquiry is now being set up to look into the whole issue of cavity wall insulation (CWI).
